A Heart of Thanksgiving

Pastor S

Thanksgiving is at the very heart of the Christian life. An acknowledgement of God’s greatness and might, and my small status in need of His provision and protection which can only come as a means of His wonderful grace, because I don’t deserve anything good from His hand. It has been said “anything this side of hell is God’s grace”. When we see our God as He truly is, which is revealed to us on the pages of the Bible, then we will see ourselves as we truly are and how desperately we need His grace.

I am thankful for so much. At the top of the list, far above all, is my gratitude and praise to my Lord who would stoop so low as to save a wretch like me. Nothing compares to this. Yet, in His great grace, He has even gone beyond that to bless me with a wonderful wife and partner who brings such joy to my life daily. He has blessed me with four children who are such a delight, two son-in-laws, and so far three grandchildren. I can say I have a God who abundantly gives, and my life is testimony to His goodness.

My Lord has blessed me with the greatest job in the world. What a privilege to even speak His name, and He has given even more. I have been granted to preach His word.

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” – Ephesians 3:20-21

I am thankful for all the people who are apart of the church I am blessed to pastor. I look forward to watching the Lord grow us as we serve Him together. I am thankful that the Lord continues to bring new people in among us as well. What a Great God we serve. To Him be all glory and praise!

I am thankful for the great friends the Lord has brought into my life. Christian brothers and sister who challenge me, encourage me, and most of all who bear with me in love. I am blessed!
